Ebay Going Local – Buys Milo.com
Ebay.com, the online auction and shopping site, in a move towards providing local services had bought local shopping search engine Milo.com. With this addition, U.S Ebay users can now search for products at stores near them and the search results obtained will have products from both ebay and Milo.com
Milo.com is a Palo Alto based local shopping store which has more than 140 retail partners ranging from small and medium retailers to large corporates such as Target Corporation, Best Buy and Barnes & Noble Inc. Milo’s inventory tracking system is designed to track products which varies from Laptops to jewelry from about 50,000 stores in U.S in real time
Ebay had earlier bought RedLaser, an iPhone app which lets users scan products and view prices at Ebay.com and other online stores. Ebay will add Milo’s data to the RedLaser app thereby allowing users to view prices of products in local stores also.
