Finland Nokia Team Creates Touch Screen from Ice
News|November 27th, 2010
Finland based Nokia has created history with a Touchscreen made from the frozen form of water – Ice. For the Touchscreen, the Finland Nokia team first created a wall of ice by joining together several blocks of ice with heat-guns. They then used infrared, optics and some electronics to create the world’s first Ice touch screen. “This was a playful experiment, but one that we think showed interactive computing interfaces can now be built anywhere,” says Jyri Huopaniemi at Nokia’s research lab in Tampere.
