WikiLeaks Blocked from Amazon Web Services

Amazon.com Inc announced on Thursday it has stopped hosting the files of WikiLeaks, because it violated  Amazon Web Services (AWS) terms of service. Amazon says this action has nothing to do with the US government inquiry on WikiLeaks for publishing sensitive classified U.S. government information.

WikiLeaks was using AWS to host the website files. AWS rents computer infrastructure on a self-service basis. AWS does not pre-screen its customers, but it does have terms of service that must be followed. WikiLeaks said it is now being hosted by servers in Europe. [via Reuters]
